You have a passion in Software Development, with a degree or equivalent apprenticeship, work or military experience. Now you're looking for a new challenge; one that will test your capabilities and enhance your solid digital talents. That's why you should talk to us at Capital One.

We're one of the UK's leading credit card companies. We put customers first - and we pride ourselves on innovation.

Our UK Software Studio is a small team of Agile scrums and plays an integral role in delivering groundbreaking solutions and we'd like you to be part of it.

As our Software Engineer, you'll help to create outstanding digital solutions for our customers. The design part of your role will focus on utilising user-centred design to craft next-generation digital products and seamless user experiences.

With your software engineering hat on, you'll be responsible for coding, ensuring that products are built in line with architectural patterns and coding standards.

Working with product owners, architects and others to identify technical and functional system needs and creative problem solving will also be part of your day-to-day role. With this in mind, you'll be a genuine people person who works well in a fast-moving environment.

If your background is in digital software engineering, we're looking for a strong portfolio of shipped code on GitHub, together with experience of at least two of the following; Objective C, JavaScript, J2EE, HTML 5, CSS3 and Xcode. You'll also need a good grasp of Subversion, Git, Eclipse and full-stack development, plus have at least one app published in the App Store.

For our SOA Software Engineers, we're looking for development experience in Oracle Fusion Middleware or Oracle BPM, together with an understanding of networking and security principles relating to Middleware. A good grasp of Eclipse, JDeveloper, uBuild, uDeploy, Hudson, Mavern and Nexus is also essential.

Bring us all this - and more besides - and we'll make sure you're handsomely rewarded. As well as a pension scheme, bonus, generous holiday entitlement and private medical insurance, you can look forward to a host of useful benefits. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available for exceptional candidates.
