An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IBM CICS/Assembler Programmer within the Service Delivery Middleware Team at Lloyds Banking Group. The successful candidate will be part of a team supporting and maintaining the bank's in-house written Middleware infrastructure interoperability suite of products hosted on the IBM Mainframe. These solutions are an integral part of many of LBG's key business services, such as Internet Banking and Payments.

To succeed in this specialist role, you'll need to be a highly capable CICS Assembler programmer capable of quickly analysing and understanding a considerable suite of programs. You also need to be capable of communicating complex information and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Part of this role is also to identify any functionality suitable for migration to an appropriate 3rd party software product, for example IBM Message Broker/Integration Bus; and then drive that migration work.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibility for creating, shaping and influencing technical designs and ensuring quality product is achieved

The role also requires accountability for influencing and driving improvements to the current architecture and the future direction of these solutions.

Technical input to risk issues and audit processes, liaising with internal and external auditors balancing deadlines with production incidents.

Experience & Skills:

-Deep technical knowledge of IBM Mainframe Assembler programming and IBM CICS programming.

-Knowledge of IBM MQSeries , as the majority of the messaging processed through these products are MQSeries.

-Creative, hands-on problem solving of technical infrastructure incidents.

-A desire to drive continual improvement and challenge the norm

-A sound knowledge of operating processes and experience of the complete IT development lifecycle

-Strong analytical skills, a detailed technical knowledge and experience of leading technical projects will be essential.

-Ability to engage and manage technical partner teams and LBG colleagues as required.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills.

-Ability to work under your own initiative as well as being part of a team.

-Communication with business and IT stakeholders at all levels.
