Help us reap the benefits of effective project management.

Rail Executive is a new body with a clear mission: leading a world-class railway that creates opportunity for people and businesses. Delivering on this mission is going to involve wide-reaching challenges, complex negotiations and project management on a massive scale. That's why we're looking for people with the commercial edge and strategic thinking to take us into a new era of rail travel.

This is a key role in our newly created Rail Executive Portfolio Office. You will promote benefits management across the organisation while including expert advice to stakeholders in projects and programmes. Acting as a critical friend, you will ensure that benefits are identified and managed in a systematic, consistent and effective way across the projects. You'll lead a team of three responsible for producing a Portfolio Benefits Map, identifying obstacles to benefits realisation, and driving an environment of continuous improvement.

Able to see the bigger picture of rail and wider transport projects, you will ideally have a relevant benefits realisation management qualification or considerable experience of working in the area. You'll definitely have experience of working collaboratively with programme and project teams at a senior level. Skilled in facilitating workshops, you will bring some knowledge of the wider transport or rail sector. Your ability to give your team a clear sense of purpose and direction will ensure you succeed in this role.
