As one of the largest fire and rescue services in the country, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) is responsible for the safety of over 2.5 million people within an area of nearly 500 square miles. Our Emergency Response hub is responsible for organising the provision of operational cover for 41 fire stations, 24/7, 365 days of the year.

Incident Command is a nationally recognised system of incident management. All operational firefighters are trained in its use and implementation, the Incident Command Academy (ICA) delivers this training within GMFRS as well as providing the operational assurance that its commanders are operating safely and within agreed procedures.

The GMFRS ICA constantly seeks to provide new and innovative ways to deliver incident command training and development. The ICA uses a hybrid of technical and practical systems within a 3D environment, and requires a suitably experienced and proactive individual to help ICA develop and improve these solutions utilising hardware and software technologies. You will be an experienced 3D Systems Technician who will be creating, amending and updating 3D simulated training scenarios, as well as managing various video capture and editing solutions. The ICA team will invest in your development to ensure you are able to react to advancements in national Incident Command strategy and developments in the 3D system called XVR and provided by E-Semble.

You will be:

-Educated to BTEC Higher or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in multi-media development

-Experience of using Games Engines

-Experience of working within virtual training/development environments

-Able to demonstrate experience of computer hardware/software maintenance

-Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of software packages

-Strong customer service skills

-Excellent written and oral communication

-Experienced in IT Skills including Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Word and Outlook

-A Self-Starter with a 'can do/will do' attitude
