Waitrose is proud to be one of the UK's favourite retailers, offering quality and excellence at all times. To maintain the high standards our customers expect, our Distribution Centres operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Development Manager at our new National Distribution Centre in Milton Keynes. This 1,000,000sq.ft of warehouse space is a fast-paced environment, and will employ around 1,200 Partners.

It's an ideal time to bring in and implement a structured continuous improvement methodology and 'create the culture'. As an advocate of the value it can add, you'll deliver CI training up to Green Belt standard and deliver a range of CI initiatives across the operation. Communication of what you're doing and why will be key, so you'll regularly let stakeholders know about the progress and benefits of CI and build strong links with groups in our community such as the supply chain forum. Mentoring and coaching on-site operational teams in the use of CI templates and tools will help establish CI across the site, and you'll identify and track all the benefits it brings.

Along with your experience in a process-driven environment you'll ideally already have at least Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Training, though we can provide that for you. You'll certainly be familiar with the use of process improvement tools and methods in a fast-moving environment, and have clear demonstrative evidence of value add change. It would be an advantage if you've also had project management training, retail or supply chain operational experience, or a background in coaching and training to support new initiatives. If you can deliver Partners having the ability to influence their everyday working lives then this will be success.

Join us and you will be joining a unique business. As a Partner you'll be an active co-owner in the business, which means you'll have a share in the profits and a real say in determining its future. What's more, we take genuine pride in treating each other with respect and honesty.
