Public Health England is seeking to recruit a highly motivated self-starter to fulfil the role of Project Support Manager working with the ICT Programme Delivery Unit. The primary purpose of this role is to establish project and programme management standards for PHE ICT and put in place the governance and controls necessary to provide the PHE senior management team with regular information on the progress of ICT projects. It will also be the hub for all IT project related queries and communications and will ensure that all IT-enabled projects have been appropriately reviewed and authorised.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can bring energy and vigor to a busy, high performing ICT team. You will have at least 5 years’ experience in a project support or related role and have an excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, being qualified in Price2 or a suitable equivalent. You will have good communication skills and experience of working with a variety of stakeholders and responding to their information needs. You should be able to work on your own or as part of a team and be able to organise your own and your team’s time efficiently. Although you don’t have to be an expert in IT, it would help if you have some knowledge of IT related projects.

You will be responsible for:

-creating and maintaining standards, processes and governance for ICT-enabled projects and programmes

-managing the project approval process and oversee compliance

-producing and maintaining the ICT programme plan

-providing regular reports to senior stakeholders and ensuring they are kept informed of relevant matters

-leading and supporting a small team of project support assistants.
