A high-profile technology and infrastructure Project Management role with the Global Leader in Engineered Light Technology.

Reporting to our Technology Manager, as Project Manager your key responsibility will be to manage, to aggressive timeframes, technology development and infrastructure projects, planning and co-ordinating both human and technical resources from across the business to facilitate the transition of technology concepts into production. Major accountabilities of this high-profile role will include:

-successful delivery of technology development projects in accordance with our Compound Photonics development procedure

-co-ordinating the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing tools and their supporting infrastructure

-handling a range of projects from local and/or short-term to global, multi-phased projects across multiple businesses.

Educated to Degree level in a scientific subject and ideally with a formal Project management qualification, you have a proven project management track record within a technical environment, preferably within the photonics or electronics sector. Organised, dynamic and flexible, with a real hands-on approach, you’re experience in the use of standard project management techniques, including risk analysis and MS project etc., with a proven ability to do what is necessary to get the job done. Your strong interpersonal skills, in which you use negotiating and influencing skills rather than direct line authority, are complemented by:

-strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply them in a group context

-first-class presentational skills

-the ability to gain the confidence of, and work with, external customers and key stakeholders to deliver project objectives.

Compound Photonics is a team of scientists, technologists and seasoned business executives, with a goal is to use our capabilities to shape and change the world of projection: from tiny, very bright, full HD laser projection light engines for smartphones and other mobile devices to ultra-high definition, 3D-capable, cinema-quality projectors. We've spent more than 10 years building a substantial portfolio of scientific concepts, technologies and a pipeline of projection components and products, with proven success. We have advanced manufacturing and development facilities in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham and Phoenix, Arizona.
