The ICT Project Manager is responsible for leading the team of project coordinators and managing the project management best practices within the ICT Project Delivery team, as well as for delivering projects/programs within scope, budget and timeline.

Purpose

Team leader activities

- Coaching, mentoring and developing staff, providing advice and suggestions for removing hurdles, including regular one to one meetings, providing development plans, identifying any training or coaching requirements and rewarding talent as appropriate;

- Identifying talents and supporting team members in developing skills and techniques;

- Ensuring that project coordinators receive training on project management practices, so they are properly equipped to do their job;

- Setting objectives for individuals and for the team; measuring performance against objectives;

- Setting development plans for project coordinators, to ensure continuous improvement;

- Work with human resources to manage the recruitment of new staff, both internal and external;

- Planning team capacity according to ICT demand and the strategic forecast, maintaining an appropriate balance between internals and externals, using externals for appropriate tasks.

Lead project management practice

- In collaboration with the PMO team, defining appropriate project and program management techniques and methodologies depending on project size and type (infrastructure, enterprise information, security, applications development, integration and program);

- Keeping project management processes and artefacts up to date;

- Applying the quality assurance plan as defined with the PMO;

- Performing quality control on projects executed by the team;

- Proactively and regularly seeking to improve project deliveries, artefacts and processes;

- Assessing project performance through meaningful KPIs;

- Producing dashboards and reports.

When appointed on a project/program

- Leading the project execution;

- Ensuring milestones are reached and deliverables are provided on key, critical, visible or strategic projects/programs;

- Managing quality, issue resolution, scope and risk across the project, ensuring proper tools and techniques are applied, escalating changes (in cost/resources, quality or timelines) outside of the defined project tolerances, and ensuring cross-team integration on project deliverables and activities;

- Managing the project budget and resources;

- Managing business stakeholders and vendors;

- Handing over the project to the support and operations teams.

Reporting and communication

- Communicating status to steering committee and/or to the project team, keeping ICT project management tools (project repository, portfolio management tool)up to date, and performing ‘post-mortems’.

Accountable for

- Overseeing the performance of the team of project coordinators and UEFA ICT project delivery;

- Acting as the point of contact for business and IT for the delivery of projects to defined customers within expected timescales, quality requirements and budget.

Requirements

Experience required:

- From 4 to 6 years in an ICT services environment

- From 4 to 6 years in project management

- From 1 to 3 years in team management

Education:

- Bachelor degree

Languages:

- English / Proficient

- French / Proficient

Additional requirements:

- Proven experience in team management (at least 3 years), in successful ICT project implementation (at least 5 years) and program management (coordination, risk management of large and long initiatives entailing several projects at a time).

- Strong knowledge of the whole project life cycle and methodologies for bespoke developments, integration and systems.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication (in particular presentation) and collaborative skills.

- Good knowledge of risk and change management.

- Proven ability to work with third-party suppliers.

- Distinctive skills in planning, prioritising and executing projects in a dynamic and political environment with strict deadlines.

- Experience in driving projects in a matrix organisation.

- Project management certification is a plus.

- Familiarity with business processes in a football/sport environment is a plus.
