Virtual Desktop Services team require a proficient, enthusiastic individual with extensive knowledge of Distributed Platform management specifically in Citrix and VMWare products and solutions (substanstial experience required) with experience of converged solutions (e.g. VCE VBlock) a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will manage the development and implementation of efficient, reliable and secure IT products and services in line with agreed strategy for a desktop hosting service as well as technical leadership for the day to day service levels.

The Virtual Desktop team are responsible for the 24x7 support of the Virtual Desktop infrastructure supporting the bank's end user computing provision to colleagues and partner resources.

The role includes:

-Manage mandatory currency and compliance levels of the virtual desktop platform.

-Contribute to the execution of strategy and direction for the distributed platforms maintaining key dialog with stakeholders in the improvement to consumer experience.

-Assist leadership in the negotiation of specific support contracts and budget accountability whereby to benchmark cost of ownership and articulate return on IT investment.

-Delivery of IT portfolio, business projects and service improvements on time and within budget whilst maintaining quality solutions.

-Maintain and execute requirements from Group Security & Fraud through a rigorous risk management of all applicable IT controls.

-Establish platforms to agreed service, capacity and recovery levels by way of managing change across the hosting platform.

-Provide coaching and career development for geographically diverse technical team up to 7 FTE's including delivery of mid-year and annual reviews.

Candidates will be expected to have:

-Excellent knowledge of platform disciplines, standards and processes.

-Strong quality focus and experience in managing large and complex projects.

-Excellent relationship, influencing skills and experience of managing multiple and diverse stakeholder groups

-Demonstrable awareness of the financial impact of operational decisions and ability to identify opportunity for cost reductions.

-Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

-Strongly motivated and focused with good "self-starter" capabilities

-Highly developed interpersonal skill sets.

-Ability to drive common processes and technology across a wide range of locations and business areas.

-Demonstrable people management capabilities including management of performance and development at both an individual and team level.
