Edinburgh or Copley

An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Platform SME to join the SOA Services Platform Team to deliver multiple projects across different IT platforms. You will take ownership of the day to day delivery of a portfolio of functional services and/or complex change projects with a focus on technical quality and software delivery.

As a Technical Platform Subject Matter Expert, you will be providing technical expertise by driving quality, integrity and maintenance. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance and that quality standards are adhered to at all times. You will assist in leading the technological direction of the Platform and you will support the Platform Teams and Engineering Teams within these to continually drive improvements in deliveries. To be successful in this role, you will possess expert knowledge of one or more applications, technologies and business processes within an area of expertise and will leverage quality and innovation within the Platform teams.

Accountability:

-Provides technical consultancy to SOA Platform project Team to ensure designs and coding standards are followed.

-Carries out design and code reviews to ensure quality standards and gateways are met.

-Acts as technical escalation point for any queries from SOA Platform project team or other Application Development & Maintenance platforms.

-Acts as a source of knowledge on Lloyds Banking Group technical processes and deliverables needed to deliver SOA Services.

-Ensures compliance with technical standards and may be involved in setting technical standards and guidelines.

-Carries out technical liaison with external vendors and suppliers

-Assists in ensuring that cross-system interfaces are properly defined, agreed and implemented, whether within the Platform or between Platform Teams.

Skills & Experience

The ideal applicant will have strong expertise of the following:

-Strong Technical knowledge/expertise predominantly gained in a software development context

-Experience in programming languages such as Java is an advantage but not essential

-Previous experience working in an onshore/ offshore model an advantage but not essential

-Good communicator when dealing with solutions architects and designers

-Proven track record working on complex projects
