How you’ll evolve

As a Software Engineer, you will take on challenging project work - designing, building and supporting technical solutions for clients. Depending on the nature of the project, you could find yourself working with technologies like .Net, Siebel, Oracle, Android, iOS and SAP among others.

In terms of development, you’ll start off with a graduate induction which includes a training programme that combines intensive learning with a lively social life. This will last up to four weeks, and you’ll gain in-depth insight into technologies such as Java, .Net, IBM Rational Toolset and SAP (ABAP).

After the training programme, it’s onto your first assignment. You’ll build your skills both on the job and through formal training. Your first role is likely to include coding and testing software as part of a project team. Alternatively, you could find yourself maintaining or assisting in developing applications. In any event, you’ll start meeting clients face to face and strengthening your interpersonal skills. And at all times, you’ll have access to our e-learning portal and an extensive library of tools, resources and training courses.

What we’re looking for

To qualify for our Software Engineering Graduate Programme, you will typically need a degree in IT, computer science or a technology-related subject. We also take maths, science and engineering graduates who can demonstrate a passion and flair for IT. You could also have qualifications in technology related subjects, such as a BTEC or HND. You might have exposure to programming languages such as C++, SQL, Java, Visual Basic or .NET, and operating systems such as Unix. Flexibility and mobility are essential too. You could be put on a project anywhere in the UK. This may mean working away from home Monday to Friday.
