We are recruiting a Project Manager for the implementation of the Ministry of Justice Transforming Rehabilitation contract. The successful candidate will be required to manage multiple tasks and resources and coordinate work streams to deliver the successful implementation through transition and into the transformation stage of the contract.
Duties include:-
- Working closely with government departments to ensure contractual requirements are achieved
- Developing, planning and ultimately delivering the project through documented testing stages
- Recommending changes and improvements to systems and processes, following up on recommendations and actions to ensure that they are embedded effectively
- Offering appropriate support, advice and guidance to support training and deployment
- Making recommendations for project improvements and identifying additional best practice methodologies
- Establishing and managing project schedules, governing external vendors and technical resources
- Ensuring quality of projects by utilisation of proven project methodology
- Developing strong and cooperative relationships with key project sponsors, team members, operational staff and service users
- Managing multiple projects and other Programme Implementation Office activities
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven track record of managing public sector projects and implementations
- Ability to manage multiple implementations
- Experience in managing Operational, Technical and Corporate implementations
- Able to challenge, guide and coach others
- Experience of working in a task driven and results focused environment
- Competent IT user - Office applications and databases
- Excellent communication skills across all levels
- Strong leadership and conflict management skills
- Strong decision making and issue resolution skills
- Strong and effective communicator
- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to the personal and occupational success
- Experience in leading teams of similar size and skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of Rehabilitation, Welfare and Social Care Schemes
- Project management qualifications or credentials eg PRINCE2
Must be able to work remotely and prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the directorate, including any necessary travel and overnight stays
