Here at Network Rail, our vision is to provide a safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable railway that’s fit for the 21st century. Our National Supply Chain (NSC) team plays its part by taking responsibility for all aspects of category management, procurement and national logistics. This includes procuring safe and sustainable products and services that are used to maintain, renew and enhance the rail infrastructure. Their aim? To deliver outstanding value and exceptional service to our customers and help the rail industry work together in a fair, transparent and consistent way. You’ll help them do just that.

Your challenge? To provide the quantitative analytical basis for the strategic management of performance improvement within the business by identifying medium to long-term performance improvement priorities. What that means is you’ll conduct periodic in-depth root cause analysis of performance data as a basis for the development of process improvements and to measure the success of initiatives. We’ll also rely on you to provide analysis, guidance, support and quantified progress reports on business improvement initiatives, including the financial impact of changes in performance. Supporting the preparation of analysis for performance improvement business cases and risk assessments will be important too, as will developing standards and tools for reporting and presenting performance and business improvement data throughout the business and its supply chain.

Qualified to degree or equivalent level in a relevant subject, you're analytical, highly numerate and have excellent problem solving skills. You also have a customer focused approach and the communication skills it takes to work collaboratively and present written and numeric data clearly. Experience of, and an aptitude for, IT software applications, including databases, is vital too, as is a talent for prioritising your workload in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
