The Opportunity.

Our Client is Looking for a Project Manager to join their team, to support Managers and Supervisors discharge their responsibilities for the Health and Safety of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by the Clients regulations and Legislation. This position gives a great opportunity for an Project Manager to be involved in an integral section of the Project.

Key Responsibilities:

* The upgrade of London's Busiest LU Stations requires a Project Manager to join the Architectural fit-out team.

* Supervision and management of the Fit Out works on site, including subcontractors, focusing on compliance with Method Statements and meeting quality and safety standards.

* Additionally responsible for ensuring that all works activities are planned and that all plant and equipment and materials are safe to use, and any control measures required are advised to the user and applied.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Duties identified in the Project Management plans

* Monitor performance against project objectives on site portraying a positive image to the client Direct management of site team and subcontractors during project delivery on site.

* Attendance at Safety Meetings and at forums with subcontractors and the workforce

* Controlling and supervising construction activities on site.

* Ensure that direct reports are aware of the Project requirements, particularly H&S, environmental and stakeholder.

* Ensuring that sub-contractors work in a safe manner with regard to their own employees, other site staff and members of the public.

* Maintaining accurate records of the plant, labour and materials used in the construction of the works.

* Ensuring that all persons working on, or entering the site are inducted and fully aware of site procedures Provision of information to the work-force via Toolbox Talks Review and approval of method statements, risk assessments and activity plans Production of a detailed programme of works resourced with staff, labour, plant, materials and sub-contract elements.

* Production of weekly and 4 weekly reports as defined in the Works Information and project procedures.

* Present the planned works activities (3 month look ahead) to the Project Director / Project Manager / Project Controls Manager and Commercial Manager on a four weekly basis.

* Identify and scope all elements of temporary works required in the section by the construction programme and liaise with the Engineering Manager regarding the design elements.

* Delegate responsibilities within the team.

* Undertake Site Inductions for new starts (rota basis with other Section Managers).

* Create effective lines of communication with other teams and particularly Civils and E&M to ensure risks are minimised and opportunities captured and realised.

The Ideal Assistant Project manager should have:

* Come from a main Contractor background

* Relevant UK Experience on similar Projects

* 8 years construction experience

* Successful experience as a Contract/Project Manager

Remuneration:

Our client is willing to pay the ideal Assistant Project Manager up to £45-55000 per annum with a car allowance, health and pension benefits and possible travel to site allowance on top of that.
