As a Network Security Engineer, you’ll join the team of experts that’s protecting the integrity of our network, so that whenever our customers go online they can be sure they’re getting a safe, efficient service. It’s a dual role where you’ll get to flex your technical support skills, as well as contribute to our operational development. On one hand, you’ll be providing vital 3rd level technical support and on the other you’ll be tackling critical design projects - assessing design ideas, checking they’re operationally sound and then bringing those solutions to life. Yet whatever you’re doing, you’ll do it at a best-practice level so that you’re delivering an ideal end-to-end service

A telecoms background would be nice, but it’s not essential. As important is your broad technical knowledge and we’ll expect you to have some of the following; Checkpoint, FortiGate and Cisco Firewall products; F5 Big-IP LTM; TCP/IP technologies and routing protocols. We’d also like to see a knowledge of security best practice and a relevant qualification such as CCNP Security, CCSA, CCSE, CISSP, FCNSA or FCNSP. Add to this great communication skills, the ability to explain your decisions and thinking in an easy-to-understand way, the fact you’re a team player who’s willing to learn - as well share knowledge - and things are looking good. As this is an operational role, you’ll be expected to provide out-of-hours support.
