As a GES Project Director you’ll take leadership of cross-functional projects efficiently and effectively establish new and existing AstraZeneca products in global markets. You’ll manage key business ‘Establish New Supply’ processes, help in team development of project management skills, and ensure the processes and capabilities within Operations environment are properly maintained and improved. Projects will include the in/out-sourcing of Active Pharmaceutical ingredients and Formulation and Packing (API & F&P). What’s more, you’ll join a dynamic, high calibre environment with the chance to not only change but to implement redesigned supply chain projects and drive decision making with Senior stakeholders. We have a number of Project Director roles available, permanent, fixed term and/or contract. Please note that these roles are based in Sweden and UK so you’ll be working across cultures and a certain amount of travelling will be required.

As a GES Project Director your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

- Significant experience in, and knowledge of, the pharmaceutical industry including experience in at least two of the following areas: manufacturing management, supply chain management, product development, quality assurance, engineering, purchasing, finance or commercial

- Expert practical knowledge of project & programme management with proven delivery of significantly sized & complex projects

- Have worked in a supply chain environment with a technical background in the pharmaceutical/chemical industry

- Specialist knowledge of one subject area that is key to the business or requires a breadth of knowledge on the practices in more than one specialist area.

- Educated to degree level in a scientific, engineering or business discipline

As a GES Project Director your main responsibilities will involve:

- Leading & mobilising significant projects, programmes and alliances within internal and external senior stakeholders and brings clarity and vision to complex situations

- Managing significant budget costs & benefits associated with their projects and programmes

- Identifying and managing significant project or programme level risks

- Taking a significant role in communicating effectively & influencing others on cultural, challenging or share price sensitive issues both internally and externally and driving key decision making.

- Acting as a coach and mentor within and outside of team to develop others project and programme management capability by providing expert guidance and advice in specialist areas. Identifies capability areas of improvement and actively drives to develop professional capability across the function

- Acting as a representative of GES on broader strategic initiatives or activities

- Leading a number of operational model or improvement activities within or across functions
