If you possess railway project engineering expertise, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will provide specialist professional and technical support on project engineering issues to the project team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of projects to time, budget and quality so that assets installed by the programme are fit for purpose.

In this key role your responsibilities will include:

Providing support on technical issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget;

Work with third parties and relevant interfacing teams to understand and incorporate their design requirements in order to assist in the production of a viable project plan;

Manage the assurance and compliance approval process to ensure the project is delivered safely and within the policies and standards set up by the appropriate HS2 functions, and all other relevant statutory regulations and legislation;

Leading a diverse team and participating in performance reviews and any promotion and selection decisions.

You will have a relevant qualification in Engineering, combined with Chartered Engineer Status (or working towards this) and membership of an appropriate professional body and will possess a significant track record of providing professional and technical advice, guidance and support on project engineering issues. You’ll offer proven knowledge of railway engineering, its systems and equipment, implementation and integration. Demonstrable project management skills, including a good understanding of contract and risk management principles, will also be key.
