This is an exciting opportunity to play an important, active role in keeping London moving - and helping Londoners stay healthy. What’s more, you will enjoy impressive scope to take your skills in project management further.

You will be a key member of the Cycle Hire team, which designs, moves, constructs and extends cycle docking stations across London. The team has an important remit - to make sure docking stations are in the best locations. They are always exploring innovative possibilities - from our brand new mobile app, through to mobile docking stations, which are installed on a short term basis for major events.

As Technical Delivery Officer, you’ll help to shape the future of cycling within London. Your work will have a direct and positive impact on the day to day experience of cyclists across the city. As a project manager, you will oversee the end to end process for relocating docking stations - from identifying and securing sites and funding, through to planning the programme of work and overseeing delivery and removal. We’ll expect you to take real ownership of multiple projects at any given time.

Along the way, you’ll work with a host of stakeholders, so excellent negotiation and influencing skills are essential. Liaising with developers, you’ll assess works, and quote and manage payments for relocating a depot to their development. You will oversee contractors and project teams, and manage suppliers. And you will liaise with planners to ensure regulatory compliance.

To join us, you’ll need a technical degree or equivalent, plus a relevant professional track record. Self-motivated and highly organised, you have proven experience of managing street based works and projects, through the full lifecycle. Financial astuteness will be key to your success. Ideally, you’ll also bring to the role knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Join Transport for London, and you’ll be part of an iconic brand with a rich heritage and a strong commercial focus. We are a unique public service provider, managing a wide and varied portfolio of transport services above and below ground, across road, rail and river. We offer a challenging environment in which to develop your career, plus excellent benefits.
