Key Features of the Role

We believe that high performing businesses deliver programmes and projects most effectively when they use mature Programme Management Office (PMO) services.

Accenture is looking for candidates with a strong background in PMO delivery. The candidate should be capable of communicating clearly with a wide variety of programme and project stakeholders. They should be able to demonstrate a depth and breadth of experience of working within PMO’s and a long-term interest in a career in this area. The PMO Consultant will work on an Accenture or client programme and will be responsible for delivering high value PMO services.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates could be responsible for the following:

Mobilise and run PMO’s for large scale, high-complexity programmesPlan creation, management and control using a standard Project Management Tool (e.g. MS Project). This involves setting up plans, tracking actual progress, and reporting variancesSenior internal and client Stakeholder managementWorking with Delivery teams to understand status, issues, risks and putting in place mitigation plansLiaison with Commercial and Financial Management teams to ensure that programme and corporate finances are aligned and that the Programme is delivering to targetProduction of status reports for weekly management meetings and executive management meetings to facilitate fact-based decision makingDay-to-day management of various project control processes, including deliverable configuration management, issue and risk management, scope/change control, resource management and quality management including the application of outputs from these processes to improve project and programme performance.Management of PMO teams on and offshoreReporting directly to the Engagement PMO lead or Project Manager

Basic qualifications

Required Professional Skills

We are looking for people with the following skills and experience:

Excellent communication skills - including verbal, written and presenting to a groupNumerate with strong problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong Stakeholder management skillsExperience managing teams of up to 10 resources

Required Technical Experience

In addition, deep experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

Certification in Prince2 or PMI PMPMicrosoft Project / ServerMicrosoft SharepointAdvanced Microsoft Excel/ Visual Basic for Applications
