Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life.

Approximately £15m of Kew’s annual budget is devoted to major projects and programmes of work. These initiatives span a wide range of areas including science, landscape improvements, construction, technology and public engagement. Since 2014 Kew has undertaken considerable efforts to improve project delivery, particularly in the areas of Estates and IT. We now need to build on this good start and continue to develop the organisation’s PPPM (Project, Programme & Portfolio Management) maturity.

You will have practical experience of supporting a Programme Management Office, ensuring projects are planned and managed to a high standard and achieving their aims within agreed timescales and budget. This will entail working with project managers to provide high-quality, standardised management information. Secretariat and administration skills will be key, particularly with regard to preparing documentation for the Strategic Programme Board, which will include minute taking and monitoring actions, liaising with Project Managers and Senior Responsible Officers across the organisation.

Ideally you will possess formal qualifications in one or more areas of PPPM.

Benefits include 30 days holiday per year, a choice of pensions, a flexible benefits scheme as well as a great working environment.
