The company develops and manufactures a wide range of high-quality medical products which are supplied to a global customer base. Part of an international group with c5,500 employees and sales approaching $2bn, it is looking for a skilled and experienced Project Management professional to develop and manage a PMO as the company is set to benefit from a significant investment in capital projects.

The Challenge

- To establish and lead the Project Management Office, implementing robust processes for all projects undertaken by the manufacturing, engineering, packaging and technical functions, leading to successful project/programme execution.

- To develop a process for Project Management which is applied consistently across the site resulting in all projects being executed in the same manner and to the same standards.

- To take an active involvement in some of the critical and strategically important projects.

- To ensure that best practice in Project Management is adopted and to establish Project Management as a core competence throughout the business.

- To drive improvements in project on time delivery, whilst ensuring that regular updates on project status are provided to the Operations and Senior Management Teams.

The Candidate

- Likely to be degree qualified, you should be able to demonstrate experience in a senior Project Management capacity within a demanding manufacturing/engineering organisation.

- You should have gained experience within a structured PMO environment and will be capable of supporting, coaching and mentoring others in Project Management activities.

- A background in a regulated industry - medical products, pharmaceuticals, food, aerospace or automotive - would be highly desirable although candidates from other sectors may also be considered.

- Your experience should have been gained in a company which has embraced process excellence and lean manufacturing and ideally, you should have some knowledge of 6-Sigma.

- An excellent teamworker, you will act with integrity whilst also demonstrating the drive for results and a commitment to setting the highest standards for quality and productivity.
