The company develops and manufactures a wide range of high-quality medical products which are supplied to a global customer base. Part of an international group with c5,500 employees and sales approaching $2bn, it is establishing a new PMO and is looking to strengthen its project management expertise with this new appointment.

The Challenge

- To assume responsibility for successful project delivery for a wide range of complex projects within the Packaging and Graphics Department.

- To provide leadership to cross-functional teams, coordinating project activities and ensuring that projects are undertaken within agreed budgets and timelines.

- To use appropriate project planning tools to communicate milestones and critical path activities and responsibilities.

- To prepare and maintain project documentation which ensures compliance with internal and external quality systems.

- To support the artwork process as required and gain any necessary approvals.

The Candidate

- You should be able to demonstrate a successful track record of managing complex multi-disciplinary projects and of successful product implementation.

- You are likely to be educated to degree level in a Packaging or Graphics-related discipline.

- Experience within a packaging environment would be highly desirable, as would an understanding of graphics processes and design, perhaps having worked as a Packaging Technologist or Packaging Engineer, although candidates with relevant project management experience from other sectors will also be considered.

- Although not essential, previous experience within the medical devices or other regulated sectors would be ideal as would an understanding of Process Excellence and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

- You should have first-class communication skills which enable you to build effective working relationships across all functions and from shop floor to senior management.
