The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity within our IT Business Solutions department for an ambitious Junior Application Support Developer to join the team on a permanent basis. The post holder will be responsible for providing application and development support for COTS and internally developed business systems utilised by faculty, staff and students

This will involve supporting business application and services, maintaining SLA levels, assisting to identify development enhancements and resolving outstanding BAU. The post holder will also work collaboratively with the Application support and Development team to maintain standards of call ticket management.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will be degree qualified and ideally hold an ITIL Foundation qualification. This will be supported by an up to date knowledge or understanding of IT technologies that may be relevant to the School.

You will be customer focused and have the ability to produce high quality processes for incidents and service requests. In addition, you will have the ability to successfully grasp new technologies quickly and translate technologies for users. You will also have an understanding of Object-Orientated Programming (OOP) designs and best practices. You will have a proven level of competence in Incident/Service Request/Problem/Change Management. Experience in Java programming Exposure to SDLC as well as having excellent knowledge of SQL scripting, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
