Want to be right at the heart of a fast-moving and critical team? Welcome to Screwfix. As Programme Manager in our Digital Development department, you’ll be the one overseeing all our projects and making sure they’re a success. It’s a responsible, senior role - but that’s exactly your cup of tea.

Our team

Our Digital Development team never stands still. Our drive to give customers the best means there’s a constant stream of varied and challenging projects. It’s a real hotbed of innovation, where agile methodologies (XP, Scrum, DSDM) are used to deliver business value. We embrace new technology, move quickly and have the courage to pioneer. What does all this mean for you? Scope, variety and the chance to join a busy and motivated team.

Your role

Reporting to the Director of Digital Development, you’ll take charge of a strategic programme of change. This includes a portfolio of exciting projects designed to boost the Screwfix business and make it the best it can be. You’ll plan and design the programme, monitoring its progress, sorting out problems and keeping a close eye on the budget. The success of the programme will be down to you - so that means keeping a tight rein on scheduling, governance, risks and dependencies as well as team performance. A central figure in the department, you’ll get the best out of the team, give regular updates to stakeholders (up to Board-level) and allocate resources wisely. With your shrewd leadership and management, every project will be finished on time, on budget and to our exacting standards.

Screwfix skills

You won’t just be managing the Programme. You’ll be steering our team’s progress too. That means you must be an inspirational Programme Manager with plenty of proven experience. Confident and ambitious, you’ve managed programmes worth at least £1m, with on and offshore development teams. What’s more, you’ve got all the right expertise, from Agile methodologies to governance and risk management. With end-to-end project lifecycles among your specialist subjects, you’ll be an expert who sees the detail as well as the bigger picture.

Working here

Innovative, successful and growing fast, we’re the UK’s number one supplier to the trade and provide a great service to DIY enthusiasts. We’re also part of Kingfisher plc, Europe’s leading DIY home improvement retailer with £10.8bn annual revenue and over 80,000 employees.

But what’s it really like to work here? We are proud to be able to say that we are "Leading the world in employee engagement" after being awarded the Gallup Great Place to Work Award.

Rewards

You will be rewarded with 33 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), 20% discount with Screwfix and B&Q, discounted company share save scheme, discounted healthcare with Simply Health, award-winning company pension scheme, childcare vouchers, company sick pay, long service awards, subsidised staff restaurant, bike to work scheme and free staff car parking. As well as great benefits, we also offer you great training and development opportunities.
