If you possess a track record of leading large projects, this is an ideal opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to play a key role within this transformational project which will create a long-term economic legacy for the country.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned sections of the project through the management of the client, the supply chain and other internal and external stakeholders. You will aid in the development and implementation of the vision and strategy for delivery for the infrastructure programme and ensure delivery according to time, cost, quality, safety and environmental specifications. Specifically, this will involve:
- Leading a team of project managers, including setting individual objectives, reviewing performance/appraisals and providing on-going feedback on a formal and informal basis so that all project managers are aware of what they are required to achieve;
- Setting, agreeing and controlling budgets for projects (budgets of £200-£400 million)
- Agreeing escalation points, key milestones, and time, cost quality and safety targets to ensure that objectives are achieved in line with programme plans;
- Within agreed authority levels, negotiating, procuring and authorising all major project contracts and variations and approving and all payments to meet value for money criteria.
For this role, you will have a demonstrable track record working with large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects and will have led large projects with overall budget responsibility in excess of £200m. In addition to your exceptional project management and leadership skills you will have the proven ability to engage with, influence, and manage operational level internal and external stakeholders. Exposure to large rail construction projects will be advantageous.
