The successful applicant will be male, a British or Saudi Citizen and have the following qualities. Experience working with or in the UK MOD or other Government agencies would be an advantage.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS:

1. Fully accountable for effective and timely delivery of acceptable proposals to UK MOD and Company that contribute towards the Company’s annual Order Book.

2. Ensuring proposals support the Company’s annual Sales target.

3. Providing a controlled introduction of new requirements to Network Delivery Team

4. Ensuring appropriate internal and commercial processes are adhered to at all times.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as part of the Network Delivery team, the Senior Bid Manager is the primary interface to the customer (UK MOD and company) for all new business activities and is responsible for creating through-life, value for money solution proposals at minimal risk to the Company.

The Senior Bid Manager has the following responsibilities:

1. To identify and evaluate new proposal opportunities in line with Company strategy and targets.

2. To continuously assess and evaluate Company strategy in line with Customer / Company needs to influence short, medium and long term planning.

3. Creation of co-operative working relationships with UK MOD programme team to ensure timely realisation of opportunities.

4. Support the UK MOD Project and Requirement teams to ensure that effective proposals are delivered that meet User requirements and expectations.

5. Ensure efficient use of Company resources to deliver:

- Timely and effective responses to RFPs are delivered that meet Customer requirements and company targets.

- Proposals that adhere to Company and Customer governance procedures.

- Proposals that are capable of delivery by the Implementation team and onward support by the Company Operations,

Maintenance and Training team.

- Continuous and high level of Customer satisfaction.

6. Continuous, high level of quality internal and external management reporting.

7. Management of GPT process to place new projects on contract

8. Liaise with Programme Management team to ensure smooth transition to project delivery

9. Support the Programme Management Team to address requests for change (RFC)

TITLE: Senior Bid Manager (Network Delivery) SITE: FT / CR

CONTACT WITH OTHERS (Internal/External/Meetings):

The Senior Bid Manager is an important representational role for GPT. The post-holder will be expected to manage effective business relationships with a wide stakeholder group including officers from the SANG and the UK MOD, together with international suppliers and sub-contractors at senior management level.

JUDGEMENT/DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY (Specific Responsibilities):

Empowered to commit the company within appropriate delegated financial limits.

ESSENTIAL

1. Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.

2. Demonstrable understanding of bid management, project management and commercial practice with minimum 5 years experience.

3. Proven track record of delivering and managing successful military or commercial communication capability bids.

4. Knowledge and experience of managing budgets.

5. Recognised Project Management qualification.

6. Proven customer relationship experience.

7. Strong standard of written and spoken English.

8. Experience of project planning and Microsoft Project
