The Finance Change Centre of Excellence is an instrumental player in driving these improvements and is itself evidence of these improvements in action.

Finance Change supports agile working and will be pleased to consider applications from candidates who have or are seeking flexible working arrangements which enable us to meet our customer's requirements.

As a Lead Project Manager within Finance you will lead and control the delivery of projects within a portfolio. You will be responsible for shaping and leading change initiatives which implement the finance business strategy. This could include delivery of a regulatory or compliance project, scheduled functionality upgrades of existing systems and processes or infrastructure upgrades. You will optimise the required resources across project to ensure delivery to agreed business plans within cost, quality and timescale objectives and work with divisions to ensure that the benefits identified in the business case can be realised. You will also lead a team of change professionals as a matrix project team.

You will be responsible for project set up and closure, lead business case development, mobilise business study/programme proposals, develop resource modelling and establish a structured project plan which you will manage to completion - ensuring alignment with the Finance strategy. You will work with the business to define and agree project benefits and to confirm that outputs and outcomes will support their realisation.

You will be expected to deliver to an appropriate project governance structure, with different levels of stakeholder input, to effectively control the project and work stream. Working closely with the Accountable Executive and/or Programme Manager, where relevant, to whom you will provide regular status reporting and solutions-driven contingency plans.

You will be accountable for adhering to a project control framework aligned with project management processes and methodologies within which costs, benefits, risks, issues, standards and quality can be measured. You will be expected to take appropriate steps to mitigate issues arising from the continuous evaluation of your project for financial, people risk and regulatory compliance.

You will be expected to drive progress against the project plan and understand, challenge and proactively manage the cost position and act to mitigate potential cost or time delays.

The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background and be experienced in applying the principles of change management. You will have experience of leading and controlling the delivery of projects, evidence of strong cost management and benefits tracking and control of a multi-level project plan. You will need to have a track record of driving sustainable change that delivers positive, measurable results and be able to demonstrate that you have the ability to assess the impact of change on the organisation, colleagues and customers and that you factor this into implementation plans.

Desirable experience would be having delivered projects within a financial services function, preferably with a regulatory and compliance element and/or experience of working in an operational finance or divisional finance environment.

To qualify, you'll need experience of leading a range of programmes and large complex projects, working with third party suppliers and managing stakeholders, ideally supported by qualifications such as MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), APMP or similar methodology.

Succeed here and you can look forward to taking the next step up the career ladder, or broadening your experience across even bigger and more complex change project and programmes.

In return we offer a market leading benefits package which includes bonus related pay scheme, car allowance, private healthcare, contributory pension, competitive holiday and our "flex" benefits scheme.

If you want a role that matters and to become part the UK's largest bank, there really couldn't be a more exciting time to join us!
