In fact, our £40 million three year IT strategy, named the Systems Simplification Programme (SSP), represents the biggest change project in National Trust history. We are approaching the end of the project delivery phase and now need to ensure we extract maximum possible value out of our investment to support and maintain our new platforms. It’ll be challenging and dynamic, absolutely, but incredibly rewarding, as you empower us to better achieve our core aim of connecting people and places.
Your important role
In a pivotal role, you’ll ensure the operational support and service delivery of an entire portfolio of IT Business Applications. Here you’ll support IT operations and validate any implemented application within the Trust, while ensuring all processes and procedures are documented, communicated and followed, based on our Applications Management framework. You’ll also provide key input into all new projects, working with the Project Management Framework to get important projects live.
Who you are
To be great at this role, you’ll need the following skills, experience and knowledge:
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of Applications Support.
- Good knowledge of methodologies and processes used for supporting IT Applications effectively.
- Strong ITIL background and training to a minimum of V3 Foundation level.
- Knowledge of enterprise applications such as Apache,Tomcat, IISand Oracle DB.
Skills
- The ability to support complex environments with multiple parties providing services.
- Working with Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
- Independent, self-starting, team player.
- Excellent problem solving capabilities.
- Proactive and shows initiative.
- Committed to self-development and enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and embracing new technologies.
Experience
- The Trust’s Legacy Applications.
- Practical experience of IT Applications support roles.
- Significant experience in the IT Applications field.
- Experience in working with third parties in definition and implementation of standards and processes.
- Understanding of Development, Testing and Support Environments.
