Overview:
The Design Museum is seeking a Client Project Manager to play a key role in the project to relocate the museum to spectacular new premises on Kensington High St 2016. The museum will relocate from its current home at Shad Thames to the former Commonwealth Institute building in Kensington, west London. Leading designer John Pawson will convert the interior of the building creating the museum’s new home, giving it three times more space in which to show a wider range of exhibitions, showcase its world class collection and extend its learning programmes.
The Client Project Manager will play a key role in the delivery of the project to relocate the Design Museum to spectacular new premises on Kensington High Street in 2016 and create the most inspiring museum of design in the world. With the fit out contract underway, the Design Museum is looking for an experienced Project Manager to bring this ambitious project to a successful opening in a little over a year.
A key member of the Design Museum Project Team, the Client Project Manager will provide essential liaison between the External Project Manager (EPM), G&T, and the museum’s internal teams, as the main point of contact for them and the design team. The role will focus on ensuring that the EPM, construction and design team deliver the building project on time, on budget and to the specification agreed by the museum.
The CPM will work closely with the Finance team to manage the budget within the agreed financial control procedures.
The CPM reports directly to the Deputy Director.
The Person:
You will possess demonstrable experience of a project management role within multifaceted large capital projects and of successfully achieving the programme of works to tight deadlines and budgets. Ideally educated to degree level or with equivalent experience with a qualification in a related area and/or project management qualification.
