As Business Intelligence Business Analysis Manager, reporting to the Director of Architecture and Strategy, your role will involve managing a small team of Business Analysts within the BI Portfolio to determine and define requirements within a wider business and IT context. Our IT function is undergoing rapid change and there is a real purpose within the function to advance capability and performance as much as possible. Therefore as a senior role in the software delivery function the role is expected to contribute to enhancing the overall capabilities of the function, sponsoring change both within your team and the wider function and ensuring a drive for functional excellence.

You - through your team - are responsible for the business analysis that fits the BI portfolio’s needs, which will involve but is by no means limited to:

Responsibility for drawing out business/process requirements, estimating and requirements definition.

Management input to the strategic and tactical planning activities within application portfolios

Management of the business analysis workload, long and short term planning and tracking of progress.

On-going evaluation and improvement of the Business Analysis processes and deliverables within the selected methodology/s

Stakeholder management- creating and maintaining a positive business relationships, ensuring IT is seen as a trusted partner in developing and implementing solutions as part of long-term roadmaps- this could include representation of the Business Analysis function at Tactical Change Board and IT Prioritisation Board, acting as primary contact point for the BI portfolio, and provide senior support and escalation point for all Business Analysis matters pertaining to BI

People management- conducting regular individual performance reviews, workforce planning, professional and personal development of team members and motivating the team and supporting them in setting aside time to improve analysis and IT processes as well as innovate for our wider business

Financial responsibility- actively participate in cost containment initiatives and support and lead cost saving and productivity improvement initiatives. In addition ensuring that resource planning, training and time recording activities are carried out in line with process guidelines, budgetary constraints and best practice

To be successful in this demanding role, you will have a proven track record operating as a Business Analyst and crucially be able to demonstrate experience within the BI domain. It is not essential you are a people manager currently; this role could act as a great next step for a BA looking to advance their career into a people management position
