What does it involve?

Our Research and Innovation teams explore the many exciting ways in which we can meet the needs of our global customers now and in the future.

As you help to develop the innovative solutions we seek, you’ll build on your expertise in a specific field, while developing world class problem-solving and leadership skills. As your depth of technical knowledge grows, you'll become a consultant in your specialism, for people across the business. Shaping the future of BT, your new ideas may lead to patents, or collaborative projects with other global research and technology organisations.

So what do I need?

An innovative and commercially astute individual, you embrace change. Putting customers first, you take responsibility for delivering improvement and results in all you do. Crucially, you enjoy building relationships and working with others. And you’re passionate about learning new skills.

Driven by insight, you’ll bring to the role strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels. We also look for a broad range of technical skills - from novel networking technologies and computing architecture, to IoT and Big Data, future TV and media, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. You’ll need to have or expect either a 2.1 degree with 280 UCAS points, or a 2.2 degree with either an additional post grad degree or 320 UCAS points.
