About the Team:

Business Service Management (BSM) - offering businesses support with their managed IT and communications through one provider. Sound simple enough? It is, but we have a great team providing the technical support to keep this all moving and we need your help to continue on our journey.

The key solutions within the O2 Unify portfolio include:-

Microsoft OS and applications, particularly MS LyncVMWare vSphere and vCloud SuitesVeeam Backup software & HP datacentre compute and storage systems

These may be delivered as stand-alone products or services up to fully managed services

Your Role:

As a Cloud Support Engineer you’ll be developing and maintaining the support model for Hosted Cloud solutions provided to O2 Unify clients.

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for operating the O2 Unify managed service including operations, maintenance, support and project work. This covers Microsoft, VMware and related skills and will work closely with the network and security functions in operations.

You will report to the Platform Operations manager and will be responsible for supporting the production and test virtualization environment.

The engineer will serve as an escalation point for second-level engineers. The engineer is also accountable for implementation, troubleshooting and configuration of all virtualization solutions and will be focused on proactive maintenance and support, as well as troubleshooting customer specific performance issues when necessary. The engineer will be required to be customer facing and able to troubleshoot various issues with third party vendors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Implementation of virtualization products and systems that support virtualization including all server hardware, networking and hypervisorsBring new ideas and methodologies to improve the departmentWork closely with the project team to provision customers onto the Cloud Platform environmentInteract with customer base through a combination of ticket and telephone interactionWork appropriate level of tickets in the ticketing queueMonitor and basic maintenance of all related infrastructureWork with vendors to resolve hardware and software issuesHelp in the gathering of data for capacity planning and performance analysis of infrastructure

Skills and Experience:

Good knowledge in vSphere & vRealize suitesWindows administration and troubleshooting skills for Microsoft Windows server 2008/2012Experience with large scale windows/Linux systems management and patch management deploymentsExperience with virtualization technologies and applicationsGood knowledge of storage systems either EMC or HP 3 PARVeeam for Backup services or similar toolStrong skills and understanding of Active Directory 2008/2012MS SQL Server experienceBeneficial to have experience in VMware SRM, PowerCLI & PowerShell
