Did you know that JTL works with over 3,000 businesses, supports more than 5,000 young people in four apprenticeships, and is now one of the top three work-based learning providers in England and Wales? Impressive facts, we know - but none of them would be possible without the expertise and innovation of experienced IT professionals who know how to keep our business running efficiently at all times.

So if you’re looking to make more of your technical skills, we can promise you an environment of unusual variety and influence.

The challenges are substantial. Working as part of a focused and results-orientated team, you will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of key IT projects including business systems (e.g. CRM, ERP), web and infrastructure projects. As you might expect, this will involve much more than identifying ways to improve existing business processes and procedures. You will help generate ideas to solve complex business problems, suggest solutions that support our long-term business objectives and actively engage with business users to translate their changing requirements into robust and functional business systems. In addition to collaborating with IT developers and vendors, for example, you will communicate business process detail to technical teams and train staff to produce high quality specifications and documentation. You will also manage workflows and the business sign-off process.

Along with a degree in a related business or technology subject, you will need a proven track record of working as an IT Project Manager across the education or service sectors. This must include the ability to successfully deliver IT software/development or infrastructure projects by gaining buy-in, managing resources, working with 3rd party providers and providing regular progress updates and reports. Ideally a Prince2 Practitioner or holding an APM qualification, you will have a good knowledge of Program Management principles and a range of SDLC methods including Agile and Waterfall. Proficiency in project management software, modelling tools including Vision and advanced Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Add to that your strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, and your expertise in financial planning and budget control, and you quickly become an invaluable member of our team.

In addition to an attractive salary, there is an excellent benefits package that includes training and development, an occupational pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and BUPA.

We welcome applicants from all sections of the community. JTL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment.
