PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS: Deliver and support level 2 (intermediate) technical training Technicians in the field of Terrestrial Trunk Radio (TETRA) Systems.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Deliver TETRA Training to NGSC students and technicians.
2. Deliver Regional TETRA Training as required by the Technical Training Manager (TTM)
3. To teach Electronics Principles and Communications Fundamentals.
4. To teach, when required at least one secondary subject: Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), Digital Microwave Radio System (DMRS), Terminal Equipment (TE), HF Radio, VSAT, Network Management System (NMS) Cryptographic equipment.
5. To produce material to support training in the form of, but not limited to; pamphlets, handouts, presentations and tests.
6. Act as Subject Matter Expert for TETRA and produce Section 2 (Execution) of Instructional Specifications (ISpec’s) for all TETRA courses.
7. Provide advice to Course Developers as required.
8. Provide written reports on a weekly basis for all students, to include; weekly test results, discipline issues, performance and remedial measures.
9. To assist in the installation, repair and maintenance of technical equipment related to the primary subject.
10. Liaise with other departments as directed by the Technical Training Manager.
11. To develop and maintain good relationship with the National Guard Assistant Instructors.
12. Any other duties as directed by the Technical Training Manager.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS (Internals/external/Meetings):
- High level of external contact with customer
- High level of internal contact within section
- Medium level of internal contact with Training Development Departments.

JUDGEMENT/DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY (Specific Responsibilities):
- TETRA Course delivery to NGSC students (including methodology and media selection)
- Class management and reporting
- Advising and inputting significantly on course development SME for TETRA
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION (Knowledge and Experience):
1. Foundation Degrees, HND (NVQ Level 4), Vocational Qualifications Level 5 in Telecommunications related field.
2. Recognized Technical Instructor Certificate.
3. Must provide recent evidence of delivering training courses in Telecommunications or related field.
4. Must have at least two years experience of Motorola TETRA, network components, network management, fault-finding, maintenance and repair.
5. CCNA certification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
6. Experience of working in the Middle East is desirable, as is experience of work within a military environment.
7. Must possess an excellent knowledge of instructional methodology and have the skills to exploit new methods and media to encourage learning.
8. Must be computer literate and show evidence of using multimedia to provide learning solutions.
9. Must provide evidence of class management and reporting.
10. Must be a self-starter with high levels of personal integrity and be customer focus
