We are looking for a talented Planning Manager to join our team who has the proven experience and determination to tackle a range of challenges.

Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. Our mission to deliver a geological disposal facility (GDF) and provide radioactive waste management solutions. This programme of work is high profile, complex and of national importance.

A 2014 White Paper provides the Government’s framework for ‘Implementing Geological Disposal’. Identifying and developing a suitable site is based on the principle of working with communities willing to participate in the process.

Reporting to the Programme Office Manager, you will be embedded within RWM’s siting function and guided by the Project Manager (GDF Siting). You will work closely with colleagues in the Department of Energy and Climate Change and RWM’s stakeholder engagement and communications function to produce and maintain ‘best-in-class’ detailed project plans, reports and other documentation for a range of stakeholders including Government and regulators.

You will be responsible for undertaking regular project reviews and escalating risks or issues via the appropriate governance routes. You will manage your own workload, liaising with Programme Office colleagues and other project teams to ensure siting activities are aligned with the rest of the business. Diplomatic and enthusiastic, you have the capability to build relationships with and motivate team members across a range of disciplines and have a proven track record of successful delivery.

Professionally qualified with a good degree level qualification in a technical, engineering or business studies discipline, you have a background in project management or project controls on major projects and are a proficient user of enterprise management software (e.g. Primavera P6 or MS Project).
