Our Database Services SQL Support Team now has an opportunity for an experienced SQL Server Support DBA to support a wide range of SQL instances and also ensure high level technical support of products, applications and services.

You'll provide the SQL Server DBA expertise and best practice that will improve our services and processes, mitigating any risks associated with the environment.

You'll also be involved with the resolution of incidents and problems and perform quality assurance, for our offshore team of SQL DBAs.

You'll have proven and extensive experience of managing SQL Server databases in a live environment as well as having excellent knowledge of all SQL Server versions (up to and including SQL 2008 R2) - knowledge of SQL 2014 would be desirable.

An integral part of this role will be how well you communicate technical issues and concepts in an appropriate manner whilst keeping it simple for your colleagues and key external and internal stakeholders.

Working in our small, dedicated team, you'll be highly motivated and have a strong support ethic for your team members. You'll have a proven ability to recognise and drive through SQL Server database improvements and strong experience of database performance tuning and diagnosis; application database recovery.

You'll provide support on standard hours, standby/ callout and rota basis, to support 1150 SQL Database instances overnight & also maintain day service so we're looking for you to have a flexible attitude towards working arrangements.
