Help the Met make the most of technology

Digital Policing is the team tasked with developing and delivering IT policies, processes, tools and services. Its work is crucial to helping MPS employees harness the full potential of information and technology in our total war on crime in the Capital.

As part of the Business Engagement team, the Business Engagement Manager is accountable for managing the interface between DP and the customer. The Business Engagement Manager will support the identification and qualification of customer needs at the MPS ensuring they align with the broader strategic aims of the One Met Model 2020.

It is a key time to take on the position. Championing IT MPS-wide, you will face the challenge of guiding customers and Business Engagement through a major transformation programme. We are moving to a new operating model for Digital Policing that will change the way we deliver IT services. It will deliver a step change in how the MPS organises itself to produce technology and the governance and control frameworks that will ensure the public gains maximum value for money.

This transformation is an ongoing process - and the Business Engagement Manger’s role will be critical to implementing the strategic priorities of the MPS, the UK’s largest and most technology focused Police Service.

The Business Engagement Manager must have experience of working within an IT function of a large organisation (across the Public and / or Private sector). Whilst they do not necessarily have to come from a Public Sector organisation, they will have to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Government’s strategy and its implications on the MPS.

Please note we are only able to review the first 100 applications received.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
