IT plays a critical role in supporting every area of Lloyds Banking Group. With 789 software systems, 26,000 servers, not to mention 14 million internet banking customers, it's no surprise that our helpdesk receives more than 43,000 requests a month. Of the 87 IT services we provide for our business customers, 24 need to be available 24/7. All of which makes our Group IT function an exceptionally dynamic and fast-moving environment to work in.

Our business has in excess of 30,000 managed devices and we're now in the middle of an exciting programme to transform our platforms, operations and services from traditional IT through to cloud aware and cloud native application delivery and management, alongside creating a leading cloud platform leveraging HP Server Automation, Operations Orchestration and Cloud Service Automation. You'd be part of a high performing and motivated team in the Cloud & Automation team to develop new and deliver innovative solutions to satisfy the requirements of our many stakeholders.

Roles holders will be responsible for the build, maintain and run of the cloud platforms. This will involve the build and evolution of cloud hosting platforms, automation consultancy to selected projects and cross skilling across all cloud disciplines.

The Cloud developers will also be responsible for upskilling on new technology such as Docker or Cloud Foundry

Key skills:

- Virtualisation and automation of Windows and / or Linux OS

- Working knowledge of enterprise automation toolsets

- Linux / Windows Administration

- Infrastructure automation

- Process optimisation

- Understating and appreciation of Open source software and the benefits to LBG

- Experience of working on Agile projects

- Demonstrable knowledge of Continuous Integration

- Practical knowledge of deployment toolsets (Urban Code, HPSA, Rapid Deploy)

- Excellent scripting skills.

- Networking and Load balancing of resilient applications

Key responsibilities:

- Set direction of cloud delivery and support

- Delivery of Enterprise automation

- Delivery of cloud hosting platforms

- Management of internal / external hosting options

- Delivery of next gen cloud hosting (eg Cloud Foundry, Docker, etc)

- Coaching junior cloud developers

- Supporting the cloud architect with the definition of strategic planning

- The build and maintenance of strategic OS

To be successful in this role, you'll be highly technical and it's essential you'll be experienced in cloud technologies, processes with a proven track record to deliver, preferably at an enterprise scale. A genuine interest in the technology and a desire to be working with and developing solutions for the latest iteration of the solution is expected.
