This is more than a graduate career opportunity. It’s a chance to make amazing things happen.

BT is a global innovations company, with customers in over 170 countries. As the UK’s number one tech sector investor in research and development, we use the power of communications to make a better world - from TV, broadband and mobile, to technology that keeps people safe and healthy.

Taking on great responsibility, you’ll enjoy so much scope to shape our industry and bring the next big ideas to life. At the forefront of innovation, you can build a truly global career.

What does it involve?

BT has one of the world’s largest in-house legal teams. Keeping pace with our rapidly-changing sector, their support spans everything from contract bids and large commercial transactions with global customers, to competition and regulatory law, data protection, employment tribunals and litigation.

During your first two years, you’ll do seats in commercial, litigation and competition by day. At evenings and weekends - plus some paid study leave - you’ll study part-time for your Legal Practice Course (LPC) with the University of Law. We’ll pay for your exams and qualification. In your third year, you can choose two further seats - in employment law, corporate and major deals/transactions, real estate or data protection.

So what do I need?

An innovative and commercially astute individual, you embrace change. Putting customers first, you take responsibility for delivering improvement and results in all you do. Crucially, you enjoy building relationships and working with others. And you’re passionate about learning new skills.

We’ll expect you to be an incisive person who can see through complexity, and identify then succinctly articulate the key elements in a piece of information. You’ll need to have or expect a 2.1 degree with 320 UCAS points. If you haven’t studied for an undergraduate law degree, then you must have completed the conversion course (GDL), with a commendation. If you’ve already started or completed your LPC, then you won’t be eligible for the programme.

Why choose BT?

The chance to help us change the world is just the start of what we offer. We’ll invest in your personal and professional growth through fantastic development opportunities and tailored support - from world-class training and masterclasses with experts at our Academy, to connections with diverse professional and social networks. What’s more, we’ll give you a competitive salary and a fantastic benefits package, including bonus, pension, discounted products and free broadband.
