KPMG in the UK has 22 offices and is part of a global network of member firms offering Audit, Tax and Advisory services to some of the world’s biggest businesses. Being part of KPMG is being part of a community of talented and innovative people, working together to have a positive, lasting impact on clients. No one type of person succeeds at KPMG; a diverse business requires diverse personalities, characters and perspectives. And with the opportunity to work across different functional sectors, there really is a place for you here.

What is Tax & Pensions?

We work closely with clients to build an understanding of, and approach to, their most pressing tax and pensions issues. You could find yourself meeting with HMRC, advising on merger & acquisition deals, providing guidance on international tax structuring or designing communication programmes to support a company’s pension strategy. No matter what you’re working on, you’ll spend plenty of time with clients, as well as working towards a professional qualification depending on the programme you choose.

Tax Technology - Software Developer

KPMG’s Tax practice is an excellent starting point for a successful business career. As one of the fastest growing areas of KPMG, the Tax Technology team is a great place to develop your business understanding, technical skills and career. You will work to add value to clients and business from day one. The project combinations are almost endless, so you’ll need the flexibility to work across different technology roles with a diverse range of people and clients.

The qualifications you’ll work for are the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) ICAEW Certificate in Finance and the Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB).

To apply, you’ll need to have or be on course for a 2:1 degree in Computer Science or related degree with 300 UCAS points and a grade B or above in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalents)*. However, it’s not just your academic performance we’re interested in -we’ll assess your application by combining a number of different factors.* Please note that entry requirements may vary for some of these programmes

The inside track

"I love that I get time with my clients, really listening to what they need and contributing to every project I’m involved in. For example, I might be part of a team advising an oil and gas client on the tax implications of an acquisition.

Networking is really important here and I regularly organise staff socials for people across different departments and grades - including one at The O2 in London!" David, Tax & Pensions, Graduate Trainee
