Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers. We do this through effective regulation of the market and working with suppliers to ensure affordable, secure and sustainable energy for consumers in the UK.

In this role, you will play a key part in improving Ofgem’s approach to strategic decision-making, helping to make a real difference to energy consumers in the UK.

Based in the Knowledge Management and Decision Support Directorate, which is part of the new Improving Regulation (IR) division, you will be part of an exciting and evolving team that works right across Ofgem. A vital source of information management to the business, you will be at the heart of a collaborative approach by supporting decision-making around governance issues; developing external KPIs; and helping to establish a single, trusted source of internal, core data. Strong stakeholder relationships will be key, with the ability to promote an inclusive way of working that promotes ideas-sharing and continuous improvement across the organisation.

We’re looking for an Analyst with a proven track record of reviewing, analysing and reporting on data sets. You need substantial, relevant experience, with outstanding numerical and analytical skills; knowledge of how data translates into narrative; and relentless attention to detail. You will interact with senior level figures in the business, engage with strategic business issues and deliver the information that helps shape the governance and future regulatory priorities of Ofgem. Credibility and expertise are essential - so a relevant degree or professional qualification is important, supported by the initiative and motivation to manage and organise your own workload.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

-Up to 30 days’ annual leave

-Excellent training and development opportunities

-The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits

-Flexible working hours and family friendly policies

-Subsidised gym and restaurant

-Interest free season ticket loan.
