Information Management and Technology Services (IM&T Services) provide support to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust users as well as to a number of other Health organisations across Oxfordshire. This involves supporting over 10,000 workstations and printers, over 11,000 staff users of systems, and nearly 800 servers (over 75% virtual). During 2015, IM&T Services responded to 140,000 calls and were involved in multiple projects.

The Integration Services Team (IST) has a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of data between the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record system (Cerner Millennium) and over 40 other computer systems used in the delivery of patient care and in health research.

At a time of growing demand for interfaces between our various systems we are looking for an exceptional individual to take over the management of IST. The successful person will need to combine proven expertise in HL7 v2 messaging and database technologies with an ability to analyse complex problems and business situations, and then devise appropriate solutions.

The principal focus of the current position is the management of a small team, which delivers the operational development and support for the Trust Integration Engine (TIE). The TIE uses Mirth Connect technology and processes over 250 million messages a year. The role requires dedication to providing first-class customer service allied with working on technically demanding projects.

As our systems are in use round the clock, being on call as a member of a service support rota may be required as part of this job. This post offers an excellent opportunity for career development in a supportive environment.
