Global Head of Data Centres - Financial Trading Applications

As Global Head of Data Centres reporting to our Global Head of Service Operations, your key responsibility will be to maintain and develop a consistent model for managing a worldwide distributed set of data centres in Europe, Americas and APAC. With operational responsibility for our global data centre and network infrastructure, delivering business-critical services to our customers, you’ll be tasked with ensuring systems and processes are in place to support seamless change management and for monitoring the infrastructure in the data centres, which will entail all aspects of data centre security.

Key Global Head of Data Centres deliverables include:

- managing and developing an effective global team, including structure and hiring plans

- overseeing strategic planning, including technical innovation, continuous improvement and Capex

- defining and implementing global standards

- monitoring projects to ensure they’re delivered on time and to budget.

You must have a strong technical understanding of data centre management and operation, including a real grasp of latest technological trends such as virtualisation and software-defined networking, in addition to security, underpinned by experience of managing a distributed global team. A proven leader, with strong communication, presentation and influencing skills at senior level, you must be comfortable and credible leading a technical team across all operational aspects, including system administration, networking and M&E. With automation experience, using tools such as Puppet and Satellite, you can also offer knowledge of:

- 24/7 high availability operation

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux & Windows

- major network protocols including MPLS.
