About the role

Over recent years, we’ve made £multi-million investments to transform our IT operation beyond recognition. That’s no small task when you consider the incredible breadth of what we do. We’ve delivered powerful infrastructural changes including cloud-based data warehousing, a 1600 EPOS solution, a brand new management information reporting suite and a responsive website (visited by over 2 million people a month). And these are just some of the activities that now need to be built on with the next phase of our ambitious technology roadmap. The largest investment in IT to date, this journey of transformation will deliver phenomenal benefits and dramatically enhance how we connect people with our cause. Join us as Head of Operational Support and help us lay the foundations for an operational support structure that delivers these exciting changes.

How can we make the most of big data to meet the varied needs of such a vast organisation? You’ll show us. How can we translate MI and data to give our people the right information, at the right time, to make the right decisions? You’ll lead us, as Head of Management Information and Enterprise Data. We’ve made significant investments in optimising our data and MI systems over recent years. And right now, we need an inspirational strategic leader to shape a vision for MI and enterprise data that will hugely impact how we do things across the Trust. You’ll be the valued face of data management here. Leading the MI and enterprise data team whilst delivering the important roadmap, you’ll get to the heart of business needs, prioritising these and finding impactful strategic solutions for data challenges. We’ve come a long way in this area - our data warehousing is best-in-class and our management information suite is already seeing results. Your role will be all about setting the standards, inspiring the best ways of working, joining up the .s and transforming how we use data better for the benefit of the organisation. It’s a rich (and rare) opportunity to take something good and make it outstanding, all for an amazing cause.

About you

First and foremost, you love big data. You’re experienced in, and excited by the possibilities it brings. You’ll combine expertise in data modelling, enterprise data technologies and MI delivery with brilliant presentation and people skills. Your knowledge and experience will include:

- An expert know-how in MI with an impressive track record of leading MI delivering projects and data integration across the whole data portfolio (from reporting to cultural change).

- A strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, latest and relevant enterprise data technologies in and data warehousing including delivering enterprise data solutions in a large, complex organisation.

- Brilliant leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team and explain data/management information (and its benefits) to people at all levels.

- Influence and impact are important. You’ll be valued as the face of data and management information so you’ll need to be comfortable presenting confidently - right up to Executive level.

- A visionary, strategic approach to problem solving and change management. You understand the ‘nuts and bolts’ but you’ll be able to translate these to deliver and implement actionable solutions that benefit the Trust.
