As a Data Analyst, you’ll be analysing one of the largest collections of data in Europe. Using a variety of cutting edge tools, you’ll be at the forefront of tackling tax fraud, evasion and avoidance. You’ll be helping us to predict patterns of behaviour and understand emerging trends - and expanding the boundaries of what can be achieved using data.

About you

We want the Civil Service to be as diverse as the society it serves, which means there’s no such thing as a typical civil servant. In fact, the things that make you unique are exactly what we’re looking for.

To join us, you’ll need a 2:2 degree, or postgraduate qualification, in a numeracy-based subject. This could be Mathematics, Economics, a Science, Business Studies, Psychology, Geography, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification. We also accept professional experience in place of a degree, as long as you have two years’ in a data analytics related field. You should also have experience of using software to analyse data.

Desirable but not essential, experience of using any of the following software to analyse data. This could be SAS (Base/Guide/Miner), SQL, Java, R, DROOLS, Cloudera tools (Hive/ Impala/ Spark), Python, or another package. You will also have excellent organisational, literacy and interpersonal skills.
