Your lean experience and expertise have helped you improve organisations. To drive efficiency. To create savings. To find the solutions to real business problems. But what if you could do all that to protect UK lives - all 65 million of them?

At MI5, everything we do is about keeping the country safe. So for you, the projects couldn’t be more complex or more interesting. You’ll become an important part of our diverse organisation, optimising varied processes (which are far from conventional) across the business to release capacity to do even more valuable work. To do this, you’ll need to quickly understand a process and the business problems we face. And to ensure your recommendations can be implemented properly, you’ll translate your findings to people of all levels and disciplines. That means finding smarter ways of working plus taking the lead in sharing skills and empowering others to understand and adapt to lean processes.

In return, you’ll find a supportive working environment and the professional development to truly test your skills. In fact, you’ll even have the opportunity to gain an externally recognised industry qualification.

Comfortable working alone or in a team, you're a natural problem solver and logical thinker. You'll also have a proven track record of analysing business problems, processes, functions and information flows. Essentially, you can use a range of lean business problem solving and modelling techniques to discover real business improvement opportunities. You'll have the knowledge and skills to actively look for, and share ideas on, ways to improve the team's performance. You'll inspire business change to support and encourage a culture of continuous improvement. With the ability to clearly communicate and articulate ideas, you'll be someone who can make clear plans while being flexible to change. We'll also need you to have strong stakeholder management skills - probably gained in a similarly large organisation.

If you have all of that, this is an opportunity to take the lead on some truly unique projects - projects that won’t just have an impact on our organisation, but that will have an impact on the nation.
