Leading key projects focussed on our data sharing agreements, you will make a big impact within a new specialist analytics team that will help to drive the way medical practice is regulated in the UK.

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

When it comes to establishing and assessing regulatory requirements for doctors, we collate and evaluate a range of data. This is crucial to modelling risk. Following the success of initial work in this field, we are establishing a new central analytics team. At this exciting time of change and evolution, you will help to shape the team, its work and its impact.

The projects you lead will focus on evaluating and rationalising data sharing agreements within the GMC. But your impact will not end there. Your projects will also help to shape the way we handle and share information with regulators and healthcare organisations. We will look to you to critically evaluate the costs, benefits and purpose of data sharing. What’s more, you will be instrumental to putting in place new agreements for sharing. Managing projects from initiation to benefits realisation, you’ll work in close partnership with information governance and procurement teams.

With proven experience of managing complex projects, including budget and risk responsibilities, you will bring to the role advanced project management skills. Crucially, you have a broad understanding of the legal constraints in data sharing, plus a sold grasp of data sharing methodologies, from safe havens to anonymised data. This all informs your ability to help specify what is needed to develop data sharing agreements. Naturally, you’ll also demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships and negotiate at a senior level.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package.
