As a Project Scheduler at the Ministry of Defence, you will provide world-class support to a world-class defence force. If you have the ambition and drive it takes to develop, progress and become a leader, we offer you the scope and support to work on large, diverse and unique projects.

Your role

You will be part of Defence Equipment & Support - the specialists who equip and support the UK’s Armed Forces. It is a fast paced, future focused and uniquely complex place to work, with constantly evolving priorities and challenges. Your customers will span diverse areas of the Forces. They will rely on your skills to schedule varied projects - from upgrades to decommissioning.

As an experienced Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for scheduling activities within your team. Schedulers will also look to you for expert support. Working on multiple projects at the same time, you will create schedules at different hierarchical levels by consolidating schedules and creating Integrated Master Schedules. Progress monitoring is another important aspect of this varied role. You will also play a part in supporting communication and managing good relationships with stakeholders. Along the way, you will benefit from excellent opportunities to develop project management and analytical skills, plus the chance to contribute to important MoD decisions.

Your background

You have demonstrable knowledge of managing projects, tracking and reporting progress using MS Project 2010, EPM 2010 or Primavera P6. A strong understanding of project scheduling, with proven experience of managing schedules, will be key to your success. We will also look for strong customer focus, with the ability to challenge, negotiate, influence and present at all levels. Ideally, you will have some experience of working in a similar role within the military, in industry or in government. You will certainly be ready to operate on a larger scale and develop leadership skills.

Your reward

Scope to progress within our high profile organisation is huge. From your day to day achievements, to excellent training and help with career planning, you will enjoy all kinds of opportunities to develop - personally and professionally. We will even pay your subscription to a Professional Body.

We offer an open and supportive environment, with flexible working opportunities and sporting facilities. You will also have the advantages of a good pension and holiday entitlement.
