DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). We play a vital role in supporting Defence by leading and managing the delivery of what the Armed Forces need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst post will use a range of BI tools (including Cognos, Qlikview and ESRI ArcGIS) with a focus on exploiting Cognos. Experience in one or more of the toolsets identified above would be desirable, although training will be available. The post holder must have the right aptitude to maximise benefit from these toolsets and deploy these to drive insight and interact with stakeholders across DIO.

The post holder will need to be experienced to be seen as an expert user within DIO, and a key part of the role is to support senior management with complex queries, as well as coaching and mentoring users across the organisation. There will be a need to present at various meetings to various groups and to demonstrate the functionality and outputs at various team meetings.

The workload will be varied and high, so it is also important that the post holder is able to manage a range of deliverables, and therefore project management experience of knowledge of how to deliver within projects would be beneficial.
