It's an exciting time at Abcam, with a big focus on the IT Department as we are currently the key enabler for a Business Transformation project and implementing a new ERP system. This is a fast moving programme and we are implementing the right technologies, processes and decisions for the future growth of Abcam.

Within IT, we follow the Agile methodology predominantly, and also TDD and Continuous Integration; alongside other methodologies such as Waterfall. There are diverse set of skills, knowledge and experience within the Programme Team, focussing on Project Management, Business Analysis and Project Analysis, which help support the IT function in delivering key projects to Abcam.

About the role:

We're looking for a Technical BA to join us for a fixed term contract of approximately 9-12 months during a journey of multi-year investment in our core IT systems.

In this role we’re looking for someone to carry out a variety of tasks including:

Supporting the Project Manager during the Inception of the projects

Collecting the requirements from the Business and the IT teams through workshops

Meetings and documentation, writing user stories and business acceptance criteria for Developers and QA Analysts

Planning the iterations, working with the whole project team for the completion of the stories and organising the UAT and supporting the systems developed by the project for a finite time after completion.

Skills and Experience you will need:

Have worked within an Agile environment and within a business with a web application development focus and software product implementation.

Have a strong understanding of the longer term delivery of business projects end to end.

Be able to influence and engage stakeholders and team members to reach common goals and develop strong working relationships throughout the business.

Multi-tasking must be a strong point as must prioritisation, as you will be working on multiple projects simultaneously. As you’ll be joining a fast paced environment you must be comfortable with hitting the ground running.
